Joe’s career began in his hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico working as a Recruiting Manager at a local bank. This is where his passion for working with and developing talent first surfaced, and ultimately shaped his career in Human Resources. With over 25 years of experience in this field, Joe has established a reputation for both building and nurturing community culture and fueling growth. He has held SR HR Executive positions for some of the most recognized Fortune 500 companies such as Ritz Carlton, General Electric/NBCU, Carnival Cruise Line and most recently Humana Inc.
In his last role as Head of Talent Management, Culture & Learning at Humana, he spearheaded a Culture intervention program that raised the company’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) by 20%. While at Conviva Care Solutions, in the roles of Vice President and Chief People Officer, he successfully integrated six companies into the existing structure of the Conviva organization.
Joe holds a bachelor's degree in management from Florida Tech and is a Certified HR Professional. He currently lives in south Florida with his family but will be moving to Virginia in the near future. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing golf and going to the beach with his wife and their dog. He has two sons, Joshua, 26, and Jovan, 22.
