Even as a young child, I knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field. I developed an early passion for taking care of others and can now easily say, it was my calling. My father was a pharmacist and my mother was in nursing school when she found out I would be coming into this world. Unfortunately, due to health complications related to the pregnancy she never completed her schooling. I have always said that becoming a nurse was my way of fulfilling a dream she never had the opportunity to.
After graduating from nursing school, I went straight to working on a cardiac unit at a local hospital. It was a wonderful experience and I learned so much, but I wanted more personalized interactions with the patients I was serving. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and it was a desire of mine to utilize this training, and genuinely get to know who a person is and how to best meet their needs.
When the opportunity to get into home care with Care Advantage presented itself, I knew this was my chance to do exactly this. I would be able to spend more time with patients, really grasping who they are and determining how we can enhance their life in the place where they want to be most, their home.
I absolutely love the purpose driven work that we do. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that the services we deliver to an individual will keep them safe and happy in their desired environment. We deliver peace of mind, always focused on the well-being of those we care for.
I am truly privileged to do this work and to do it alongside the most dedicated and compassionate individuals, all devoted to our mission of enhancing the lives of our patients, our employees, and the communities that we serve.
